This film has great visual imagery. It has many touches of magical realism and symbolism. If you want a straightforward story, this might not be your cup of tea.
The film did not seem to "zig-zag" like to me though I can see why some people may not like it. As with another film clip I saw in Latin America, it appeared to be a story that involved other, possibly true, stories within it. Thus, it looked very interesting while also unique in its story. It appeared to be one of those classic, long films that one actually enjoys watching. Therefore, I would want to see this movie.
This film definitely had its complications. There is a deep sense of symbolism and intertwining storylines in this film and it seems as the antithesis of a movie that I would normally watch, that being an American-designed movie that oftentimes is straightforward. Pan's Labyrinth may be a lot harder to follow than the average film, but I feel it would be a good trip out of my comfort zone and I would be open to watching it.
i have some background knowledge of Pan, as i have read Percy Jackson. However, this seems very different to me. This seems like a very confusing film to me. I cannot relate to this as the south american culture that surrounds this seems as it should, foreign to me. I do feel as though i would enjoy this movie because of the complexity of it. That would interest me, as Inception did
Like Joe, I know a bit about Pan because of Percy Jackson, but the premise of this film seems pretty different. This reminds me of a movie like Inception, in which the characters are trapped in a very complex and confusing maze of dreams. I would really like to see this movie to see how well this idea is executed.
This film seems to be a bit complicated and this may be a reason why it was not liked. This was one of those long movies that people either like or they do not. This movie would be good to watch to see the outcome of it.
The movie looks extremely interesting. While it does look complicated, why does everything have to be simple? The intertwining storylines look extremely deep and tied with each other, which adds to a great sense of awe. The film looks pretty amazing to me, and so what if it's complicated.
I enjoyed how the movie seemed to have all the tangents that coursed through it. The downside to that is the movie can become confusing and after a movie is confusing it becomes boring and that could happen to a lot of viewers. The symbolism and realism really helped add a level to this movie that isnt seen a whole lot anymore. I would enjoy to give this movie a try, maybe iw oold like it i would just have to wait and see.
