Q1: Bus 174

This is the film based on the true story of the Candelária survivor who hijacked the bus in Rio.

Watch the trailer and respond.

  1. This seems like a historically accurate and serious "Bad Ass". Bad Ass was a comedy with Danny Trejo (Latin American) as a man who stopped a hijacking. This seems like the total opposite. it seems as though it would be a long and tedious film that takes a while to unwind. It seems as though it would drag on as the setting appears limited to the bus. Would probably not watch this.

  2. I agree with Joe that the setting for the movie seems a little limited, especially for what seems like it might be a big drawn out action scene. However, the movie might be able to pull it off like some other movies that are based in such a small setting. It really depends on how much drama is built up over the entire movie and how it is released.

  3. This reminds me of a movie i once watched . This seems like a decent action packed movie . I agree with Joe that the setting is a bit limited because of the bus. i might watch it but it reminds me a lot of the hijacking movies we have here accept this one is historically accurate.

  4. Well of course it's going to take a long time to unwind, that's the nature of the film. This is telling someone's life leading to their decisions, not some action movie. The movie looks like it's good, and chronicles the guys life as it was, and tells a story that no one asked about as advertised.

  5. I disagree with the first few comments in that I don't the setting is limited and I don't think the movie would just be one 90 minute action scene. The trailer laid out pretty explicitly that the movie's goal was to tell Sandro's story - his life before he hijacked the bus and how he got to where he was - and I thought the trailer made that clear. Sandro seems like a mildly misunderstood kid, but one who probably has issues.

  6. I think the set may be limited but that isnt a bad thing. One summer reading book we had was about hijacking a bus and their was a lot of action and suspense and most of the movie was shot in a bus. The set may be limited to just a bus and the surrounding area but if the acting and action is good then that doesnt matter. The trailer could have been a little better in my opin ion but overall it was a good trailer and it made me think about that book and if the movie is like that than it must be pretty good.
